Virginia Red State is a grassroots political movement formed after the 2008 presidential election. The members seek to advance the traditional conservative values that have made America a great Nation, such as limited government and personal responsibility.
Conservative values are the predominant values in America. Ronald Reagan won landslide victories by running as a conservative. In 1994, Republicans won control of the House of Representatives for the first time in four decades by running on conservative issues. When conservative issues are on the ballot and effectively communicated, they win elections.
Virginia Red State seeks to educate citizens on the superiority of conservative thought and to support conservative candidates for elected office. Our efforts are primarily focused on, but not limited to, the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Virginia Red State has supported the following candidates:
- Bob McDonnell for Virginia Governor
- Bill Bolling, for Virginia Lieutenant Governor
- Ken Cuccinelli for Virginia Attorney General
- Mitch McConnell for US Senate (Kentucky)
- Richard Shelby for US Senate (Alabama)
- Tom Coburn for US Senate (Oklahoma)
- Eric Cantor for US House of Representatives (Virginia)
